Tool wear monitoring of high-speed broaching process with carbide tools to reduce production errors

چکیده
Real-time monitoring in CNC machine tools is focused on the early detection of tool wear, and this way to assess part piece quality. The machining process known as broaching critical for firtree slots (dovetails) production turbomachinery components, such turbine disks. Tight tolerances one hand, even less than 5 µm firtree-slots pressure faces, high productivity other, are two main requirements. Besides, very expensive cutting edges wear must be estimated during process; fact, difficult-to-cut materials may cause a waste not only terms but also workpieces. Broaching usually last operations chain, so components start operation with high-added value. Hence, bad slot implies an unrecoverable therefore huge time money. In paper, method efficient proposed by combining real-time off-line inspection. Firstly, characteristics defined, those affected degradation. Secondly, some cycles were carried out while measuring a) accelerations through accelerometers, b) force load cells, c) motor drive consumption. They simultaneously recorded. Furthermore, sensitivity between natural frequencies established. Finally, series experimental tests executed verification, showing useful approach daily life production. paper focuses signals their significant variations.
